I am a daughter, sister, & wife. I am a photographer -- in the most amateur way I could be, but what counts is that I love photography & my friends love my photos. I take photos for memory's sake, as well as to challenge myself to present a new perspective on what I see.
I am a Japanophile, which I attribute to being Happa: Half Japanese, half American. I majored in Asian Studies at UC Berkeley, and yes, I'm proud of achieving that. Though my husband and father believe otherwise, I don't think I'm quite fluent in Japanese yet. But, I'll be participating in the JET Program to teach English in Japan starting in August 2009, and expect my fluency to skyrocket once I'm there.![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif)

I am all SMiles, capitalization intentional. I love to laugh. I love to play board games. I love to read. I love to eat. I love to travel. I love to try new things -- food and experiences.
I love boys who smell good and girls who aren't catty. I'm impatient & always want to know what's going on & at 22 I'm still scared of the dark: These are things that I'm working on. I like planning things out and writing in my calendar book.
This journal is here primarily to keep in touch with people who I've made friends with over the years. At this point I don't really add people I don't know. Sorry.
